At Goodwill, we do more than collect and sell used goods. As part of our green initiative, we keep millions of reusable items out of landfills. When we provide services, we maintain a high level of quality, and we do it in an environmentally responsible way. Goodwill is committed to reducing the impact on the environment and its natural resources. Many of the goods you might be tempted to throw away can be reused … and turned into jobs and training for North Georgians looking for work.

Last year, we sold more than 25 million pounds of goods to recyclers, in addition to the millions of items sold in our stores – items that might otherwise have been wasted in landfills. The green business initiative is good for the environment and it generates both time and revenue to support our mission services.

Through our partnership with Dell Reconnect, we can even recycle your unwanted computer equipment, monitors, scanners, and printers – basically anything that connects to a computer. We keep your old tech out of landfills and put it back to good use.

Environmentally Friendly Construction

For more than 100 years, Goodwill has been championing protecting our environment through the reuse of goods. Now we are extending that same stewardship to the construction of our stores.

Our Grasslands and Piedmont stores are LEEDĀ® Certified. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building certification program is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings.
