Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our Commitment to Representation
Goodwill of North Georgia serves a vast region, encompassing 45 counties, which includes the Metro Atlanta area. Currently, our team is present in 25 of these counties, ensuring that we can extend our services to all 45 counties. We want to make sure everyone in the places we serve feels seen, especially those from communities that have been historically marginalized or overlooked.
Reflecting All Voices
It is essential to ensure that everyone is included and represented in decision-making. To achieve this, we should refer to the latest Census data for our state, the specific counties we are working in, and the areas where we operate. This will help us to understand how our efforts compare to the bigger picture. It is worth noting that only 62.90% of Georgia’s population aged 16 and above may be part of the workforce. Our core focus is to ensure that everyone is included and represented, regardless of background.
What do we look like at every level?
Understanding who works on our team at different levels is important for treating everyone fairly and ensuring we have a mix of people. Here’s a look at our team in different roles, showing the percentage of male and female representation at every level.
Empowering BIPOC Representation
Historically, Black, Indigenous, and People(s) of Color (BIPOC, sometimes also IBPOC) have not held high positions of power. At Goodwill, we are dedicated to changing that.
We are committed to promoting and maintaining fair representation at all levels of our organization. Here’s a look at our team in different roles, showing the percentage of BIPOC individuals throughout the agency.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In recent years, we have aimed to diversify the Board of Directors. Currently, 59% (fifty-nine percent) of board members come from BIPOC backgrounds, while 53% (fifty-three percent) are women. The board’s recruitment efforts prioritize diversity as a key pillar and will continue to do so in the future. Click here to view our current board.
Our Good Connections Program
Every month, we gather in person and virtually to celebrate each other, to have conversations in affinity groups like our Employees and Business Resource Groups (EBRGs), our monthly Inclusive conversations, and our monthly celebrations of national holidays, heritages and commemorations that highlight the uniqueness of our Goodwill family all year round.
