Community Leaders Appointed to Advance the Organization’s Commitment to Workforce Development & Economic Mobility

Decatur, Ga.- JULY 01, 2021 – Goodwill of North Georgia – one of the oldest and largest metro Atlanta nonprofit organizations – announces the addition of five new board members for the 2022 fiscal year. These individuals bring unique insight and expertise that will help further the organization’s mission to put people to work.

The new board members include:

C. David Moody, Jr., Owner of C. D. Moody Construction Company Inc.


C. David Moody is the founder and owner of one of the largest African-American owned construction companies in America. His firm has delivered on more than 200 commercial projects valued at more than $3 billion including the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport, and more. Moody’s company has appeared in Black Enterprise
magazine’s Top 100 list of black owned industrial companies for the past two decades. With an avid sense of community service, Moody has funded scholarships at select universities as well as handed out close to 100 individual scholarships. Outside of being a thriving entrepreneur, Moody is the author of “Fighting through the Fear – My Journey of Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse,” a photographer, motivator, and inspirational speaker that will bring many strengths to the board.

This is when I learned that Goodwill does so much more than I ever realized to help people in need. I am excited to help Goodwill continue on the mission of service to others.”

Erica Qualls-Battey, Atlanta Area General Manager of Marriott International


Erica Qualls-Battey oversees the Atlanta market for Marriott International and is general manager for the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. She is a recognized leader in the hospitality industry and has held key positions at Atlanta Marriott International within various disciplines that include finance, human resources, and hotel operations. As an active member of the community both nationally and locally, she has distinguished herself with top recognitions and awards, including Most Admired CEO, YWCA Woman of the Year, 100 Most Influential Atlanta, and many more.

“It is an honor to serve on the board of Goodwill North Georgia,” said Erica Qualls-Battey. “At Goodwill, we put people to work which creates independence by providing income for employees to care for their family. It also promotes personal achievement. Andre Dickens, Chief Development Officer of TechBridge & Atlanta City

Council Member, Andre Dickens, brings a wealth of knowledge as a city councilman, businessman, and nonprofit executive. Dickens is a proud product of the Atlanta Public School System. He’s led many organizations including City Living Home Furnishings, which he founded at the age of 28 and grew into a multimillion-dollar retail business. Dickens is a vocal leader who advocates for causes like affordable housing, education, and workforce development.
“I am honored to be selected to serve on the Goodwill of North Georgia board with so many talented and committed civic leaders,” said Andre Dickens. “I feel like Goodwill’s vision is consistent with my own personal desire to see everyone afforded the opportunity to be useful in society and have an excellent quality of life.”

Carol Waddy, Director of Community Engagement & Corporate Social
Responsibility at Chick-fil-A


Carol Waddy is responsible for providing strategic guidance for the corporate community engagement roadmap at Chick-fil-A, Inc. Waddy is responsible for Chick-fil-A’s local initiatives, civic engagement, corporate volunteerism, and partnerships focused on community and economic development. With 20 years of experience in various executive roles, she has been recognized as a 2019 Atlanta Magazine Woman Making a Difference and United Way Woman of Impact. Waddy is a passionate volunteer and advocate of many philanthropic endeavors.


“Improving economic mobility is the great challenge of our time,” said Carol Waddy. “Goodwill of North Georgia changes lives every day by providing the opportunity to prosper through training and hard work. I believe in the mission and impact of this organization. I am passionate about this critical work and honored to serve our community in this capacity.”

Natosha Reid Rice, Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer at Habitat for Humanity International


Natosha Reid Rice is not only a leading nonprofit executive but also an ordained minister, inspirational speaker, and attorney. She founded Fresh Rain for Life Ministries, a ministry that provides a “sanctuary for women in the midst of life” through worship services, retreats, bible studies, workshops, and mission outreach. Through combining her legal practice and ministry, she has provided expertise on several faith-based development projects all over the country. She has also trained over 6,000 South Africans for their first democratic
elections, helped establish a nonprofit committed to increasing enrollment of minority students in top MBA programs, and taught an interdisciplinary course on urban community development as an adjunct professor at St. Louis University Law School.

Additionally, Keith Parker, president and chief executive officer of Goodwill of North Georgia, announces the appointment of Goodwill of North Georgia’s board officers for the fiscal year 2022. Board officers include:

Goodwill of North Georgia serves a 45-county territory with 100+ stores and donation centers. The organization also operates 13 career centers to support job training and placement services offered free of charge to tens of thousands of North Georgia job seekers.
