Angela Stewart's Business; Mochas’ WellnessMeet Angela Stewart

I joined the US Army in 1985. Since the early 1990s, I have been an Army reservist who trains fellow Army comrades on how to use mechanical and water equipment. In 2003, I decided to start my own business and joined Goodwill’s BusinessNOW program for help getting started. The program was perfect for me. My plan was to start a pick-up laundry service.

In BusinessNOW, I learned how to write a business and marketing plan and manage other aspects of launching the small business. I completed the program, but before I could fully develop my business I had to complete an 18-month tour in Afghanistan.Upon my return from Afghanistan, my doctor told me I could no longer drink coffee. I was diagnosed with lupus in 1992 and the caffeine was not good for my physical health. A long time coffee-lover, I searched around for caffeine-free alternatives to quitting coffee all together. I found many brands of teas and coffee that I never knew existed and saw the potential for a business opportunity.

Today, my business, Mochas’ Wellness, has more than 100 clients who shop from my wide selection of coffees and teas – more than 300 varieties! BusinessNOW was my first step to starting the business of my dreams. I love it. I have a passion for what I do now.
