Goodwill of North Georgia honored companies who helped support its mission to put people to work in 2019 at an Employer Recognition event held on February 7, 2020. Last year, more than 5,000 local employers worked with Goodwill of North Georgia, helping the nonprofit connect 25,688 North Georgians to jobs.

Special recognition was given to the following employers:

  • Employer Partner of the Year – Owl Transportation, Inc.
  • Breaking Barriers Award – Len Foote Hike Inn
  • Community Training Site of the Year – BH Management Services, LLC
  • Emerging Partner of the Year – Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Woodstock
  • High-Growth Business of the Year – Amazon Workforce Staffing – ATL Node
  • Micro Business of Year – Grizzly Delivery, LLC
  • Mission Ambassador of the Year – Greenbriar Mall

 “We applaud each of these exceptional employers for their leadership in workforce development, which in turn supports our mission to put people to work,” said Jenny Taylor, vice president of career services for Goodwill of North Georgia. “The employers recognized this year, along with thousands of others, made it possible for us to help more than 25,600 of our neighbors in North Georgia find jobs in 2019. We look forward to working with them to have an even greater impact in 2020.”

Last year, Goodwill’s Career Services Team served 51,915 job seekers through its 13 career centers and the nonprofit’s virtual career center resource, CareerConnector.org. Career centers offer free services to any job seeker looking to connect to high-demand jobs in their area or make a career change. All career center locations are open to the public and equipped with professionals and resources to help job seekers and micro business owners. Throughout North Georgia, companies partner with Goodwill to provide on-the-job training sites and hire graduates of the job training programs.
