Goodwill of North Georgia Celebrates Grand Reopening of Stone Mountain Store

Stone Mountain, GA (June 5, 2025) – As part of its ongoing Refresh, Reset, and Refocus initiative, Goodwill of North Georgia proudly celebrated the grand reopening of its Stone Mountain store and donation center on Thursday, June 5, following a series of internal renovations aimed at improving the overall customer, donor, and employee experience.
Located at 1450 East Park Place Blvd, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30087, the Stone Mountain location has served the community since its opening in 2014, providing residents with a convenient and meaningful way to donate gently used items and shop for quality goods at affordable prices. Renovations for the store began on March 17, 2025, and were completed just in time for the summer season.

“We’ve carefully refined the renovation process to offer our guests a firsthand look at the transformation—all while maintaining a seamless shopping experience across the 14,470-square-foot salesfloor,” said Dell McKinney, chief operating officer of Goodwill of North Georgia. “Our priority is to enhance the environment through thoughtful and purposeful updates, creating a space that is fresh, vibrant, and welcoming.”
The Stone Mountain reopening is the latest milestone in the Refresh, Reset, and Refocus initiative, which launched in 2019 as a commitment to modernizing Goodwill locations across the region. In recent years, multiple stores have undergone enhancements, including those in Rome, Cobb Parkway, Covington, Fayetteville, Hickory Flat, Northside, Jonesboro, Douglasville, Conyers, and Powder Springs.
So far in 2025, additional stores in Dawsonville, Cumming, Grasslands, Sandy Springs, Tucker, Roswell, East Athens, West Athens, and Loganville have received updates, with more locations scheduled for renovation in the months ahead.
“Our guests have been delighted with the Refresh at our Stone Mountain location, and that excitement is echoing across other stores as well,” McKinney added. “They’ve expressed enthusiasm for the updated fixtures, fresh paint, and dynamic new graphics. Most importantly, the thrill of treasure hunting remains alive—now elevated by a brighter atmosphere and an expanded selection of quality goods. It’s still the Goodwill experience people know and love, just better.”
Every Goodwill purchase directly supports the nonprofit’s mission to Put People to Work. Revenue from in-store and online sales helps fund job training programs, employment services, and career development initiatives that serve communities across North Georgia.
