ATLANTA – Goodwill of North Georgia, one of the largest retail operations and workforce training agencies in Georgia with a mission to put people to work, announced the official launch of its Mobile Career Center, a career services center on wheels that will serve communities across 45 counties. The Mobile Career Center is designed to connect people with employment opportunities, provide digital access, and offer free job training resources – extending Goodwill’s workforce development mission directly into local communities.

With its March debut, the Mobile Career Center will begin visiting neighborhoods throughout North Georgia. Goodwill has set an ambitious goal for this new unit to serve 400 job seekers and place 125 individuals into jobs by the end of fiscal year 2025 (FY25). This launch also coincides with a significant milestone for the organization, as Goodwill of North Georgia recently celebrated the opening of its 70th retail store in Jasper, GA – an achievement that underscores the nonprofit’s growth and continued commitment to the region’s communities.

“At Goodwill, our mission is to put people to work, and that means meeting job seekers where they are,” said Keith Parker, President and CEO of Goodwill of North Georgia. “By launching the Mobile Career Center, we’re bridging gaps in access and bringing critical career services directly to communities. From helping someone navigate an online application to connecting them with a hiring employer, this initiative allows us to support more Georgians in building sustainable careers while strengthening our communities.”

Job seekers visiting the Mobile Career Center can expect one-on-one assistance with online job applications and résumés, connections to local employers and hiring events, and access to digital skills workshops and job-readiness programs – all free of charge. The mobile unit is outfitted with computer workstations, internet access, and is staffed by Goodwill career coaches, effectively bringing the resources of a brick-and-mortar career center to underserved areas. It will also host on-site hiring events and training sessions, creating a convenient one-stop shop for employment services.

“Removing barriers to employment is at the heart of what we do,” said Jenny Taylor, Vice President of Career Services at Goodwill of North Georgia. “By bringing our career center on the road, we’re making it easier for job seekers in every corner of our region to access the tools, training, and connections they need to succeed. This mobile unit will change lives by helping people find jobs and boost local economies by connecting employers with ready-to-work talent in their own communities.”

In the coming weeks, the Mobile Career Center will be on-site at various Goodwill events and community locations across North Georgia.
