Goodwill of North Georgia to Open New Store in Sandy Springs on June 11
New Location will Open with Enhanced Safety Measures
ATLANTA, GA (June 9, 2020) – Goodwill of North Georgia will open the doors to its Northridge store in Sandy Springs on Thursday, June 11, at 10 a.m. Located at 8331 Roswell Road, hundreds of shoppers are expected to visit the new store on opening day. The 30,813-square-foot space, including 12,634 square feet of retail space, features a drive-up donor door, making donating items safe and convenient.
“Goodwill of North Georgia locations are safe places to work and shop. As we open the doors to our Northridge store for the first time, the health and safety of our team members, shoppers and donors remain the highest priority,” said Keith Parker, president and chief executive officer at Goodwill of North Georgia. “Shopping and donating at this new location will support our mission to put people to work as the state of Georgia experiences record job losses.”
Temporary store hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Store guests and donors can expect the following new safety measures in all locations across Goodwill of North Georgia’s 45-county territory, including the new store in Sandy Springs:
- Store associates, shoppers and donors wearing a required face covering or mask
- Metering of guest traffic to promote social distancing
- Guest ambassadors disinfecting cart handles after every use
- One-way traffic on each aisle to aid social distancing
- Plexi-glass shields installed at open cash registers
- Contactless payment available
- Contactless donations process
- Frequent cleaning of “high-touch” areas
- Temporary closure of fitting rooms
- Restricted use of restrooms to one guest at a time
- Temporary suspension of water fountain usage
- Temporary suspension on the sale of jewelry, sunglasses and other accessories
Each purchase helps to support the organization’s mission to put North Georgians to work. The sale of donated goods helps to fund Goodwill of North Georgia’s workforce development programs and 13 career centers located across the region, as well as its virtual career center, CareerConnector.org.
The Northridge store is expected to bring in both shoppers and donors who will find the new location to be a convenient place to donate items they no longer need. Shoppers will find a variety of merchandise from clothing and shoes to décor and books on the sales floor. Those who visit the store during grand opening weekend (June 11 – 14) will have the opportunity to enter drawings for Goodwill gift certificates.
