President and CEO Keith T. Parker recently spoke with the Atlanta Business Chronicle to discuss how the organization continues to put people to work in challenging times. Goodwill’s virtual career center resource, Career Connector, provides the same level of care that jobseekers would expect in any of the 13 physical career center locations.

Goodwill of North Georgia is seeing an uptick in the number of jobseekers coming to its virtual career center. The organization’s counselors are helping recently laid-off workers retrain and connect with new jobs.

“The times people come to us the most are when they are fearful about losing their jobs, when they actually have lost their job, or when they want to move to something better, higher paying, more suited to their skills,” said Keith Parker, president and CEO of Goodwill of North Georgia. “That’s what we’re here for, and at the same time, there are a number of employers who need people.”
