As part of Goodwill of North Georgia’s Refresh, Reset and Refocus initiative, the organization celebrated the grand reopening of its Tucker store on Thursday, December 12, after undergoing internal renovations. The Goodwill team has been renovating many locations to improve the shopping, donating, and working experience for everyone who supports the nonprofit.

The Tucker store and donation center, located at 4400 Hugh Howell Road, Tucker, GA 30084, was established in 2017 and has been serving the community ever since. Residents of Tucker and the surrounding areas have had a place to shop and donate their gently used clothes, furniture, books, household goods, and technology for some time now.

Renovations for the Tucker store began on September 16, 2024.

Dell McKinney, Chief Operating Officer of Goodwill of North Georgia, highlighted the extensive renovations to the Dawsonville store. “These renovations encompass in-store marketing, vibrant new graphics, illuminating lighting, and new paint. The sales floors and backroom spaces were reorganized to maximize operational and selling areas. Additionally a wider range of new goods was introduced, fixtures were upgraded, and the break space for team members was revitalized.”

“The renovation was carried out with minimal disruption to our guests’ shopping experience. Our commitment to continuous improvement has led us to strategically refine the process, allowing guests to witness the transformation firsthand while seamlessly continuing their shopping journey,” McKinney emphasized.

Under the Refresh, Reset and Refocus initiative which began in 2019, Goodwill has renovated several of its stores in the past year, including Rome, Cobb Parkway, Covington, Fayetteville, Hickory Flat, Northside, Jonesboro, Douglasville, Conyers, and Powder Springs. As of 2024, the Cornelia, Oakwood, Hamilton Mill, and Winder stores have also been updated. The organization has plans to continue updating other locations in the coming months.

“Our guests have shared enthusiastic feedback about the refresh at the Tucker location,” stated McKinney. “The excitement of treasure hunting is still present but has been enhanced by a revitalized atmosphere and an expanded selection of new goods within the store.”
