Clear Space While Helping Your Neighbor Find Work

If you are looking to clear out some space prior to stocking up on Black Friday, consider giving back this holiday season by donating your no longer needed items to Goodwill of North Georgia. Your donations help people prepare for and find work throughout your community.

Clearing out clutter and other gently used items is a terrific way to prepare for the holidays, help the environment by avoiding trash, and you can truly make a difference when you donate your items to Goodwill. The nonprofit uses funds raised from the resale of your donated items to help fund job training programs and employment services at its 14 career centers and on careerconnector.org.

When you donate books, rarely used kitchen appliances, or clothing, know that you are helping a local job seeker access the resources they need to support themselves and their families. Thanks to your support, last year alone, Goodwill of North Georgia helped over 16,000 North Georgians find meaningful work. The organization also diverted over 43 million pounds of trash from Georgia’s landfills, avoiding unnecessary waste harming the environment.

“At the core of what we do, we are focused on connecting people with skills and work,” said Elaine Armstrong, vice president of marketing. “This is possible due to the generosity of our donors. Without your contributions, we could not provide job training resources to job seekers across North Georgia.”

Black Friday is known to have major sales on retail prices, some as high as 37% on savings. Now is the time to replace used items such as televisions, toasters, shoes, blankets, clothing, and toys to clear space before personally upgrading or receiving through gifts from friends and family.

Goodwill collects donations at more than 100 locations across North Georgia. Find a location near you at goodwillng.org
