Woman with glasses

Wanda Puig has used Goodwill’s Career Centers occasionally for the last few years. Childcare issues prevent her from seeking permanent, full-time employment; however, when she needs to find temporary opportunities, she knows she can count on Goodwill.

In November 2021, Wanda visited the Cartersville Career Center and met with Lead Career Coach Adaris Rivera, who had assisted her with prior employment needs. Adaris helped Wanda revise her resume to assist with her current search for a temporary assignment. Wanda was closing on a home in a few weeks and needed money for furnishings.

Adaris shared a terrific opportunity with TeamWRX, a staffing agency. The position was for four days – two days of onboarding and two days of work — helping with staffing needs during a Kaiser Permanente strike in California. With travel expenses covered and a stipend for food, Wanda left for Oakland on November 16th. Wanda enjoyed her time on the job and returned to Cartersville, able to achieve her goal. She even purchased some of her furnishings at the Cartersville store.

Wanda is very grateful for the help Goodwill provides in her job searches and continues to spread the word among her friends. Knowing that Wanda is always interested in temporary assignments, Adaris contacts her when opportunities are available.
