In a nutshell…we put people to work thanks to you! Well, thanks to all the people who donate and shop at Goodwill of North Georgia. All those quick drop offs and the clothes and treasures you find in store—they make a big difference in our community. How does it work?

Step 1. Donate

Donations get brought into one of our 60+ locations across Metro Atlanta, where it only takes a minute to donate gently used items you’d like you’d like to clear out. These donations then get sorted, priced, and sold in our stores.

Step 2. Shop

The fun part: finding just the right piece. You stop by a Goodwill and browse the deals until you see something that speaks to you. Maybe it’s a shirt that’s exactly your favorite color. Or a coffee pot to replace your broken one at home. Or an end table that would look great in the living room. You buy it for a great price and then…

Step 3. Support Job Seekers

…we use that purchase to fund our mission: putting people to work. Every donation and every sale goes towards job training and employment services to help North Georgians find a first job, a better job and a career. Through our 13 career centers, Goodwill offers free job search resources such as résumé writing, access to job listings, and job fairs. Goodwill training programs prepare job seekers for careers in a variety of fields like technology, retail, logistics, healthcare, and construction. All provided to North Georgia job seekers at no charge. And, while we are here to help every job seeker, we provide extra support to our neighbors with the greatest needs: veterans, people with disabilities, opportunity youth, people experiencing homelessness, and people receiving public benefits who want to move out of poverty into self-sufficiency. Thanks to all our shoppers and donors, we’re able to help thousands of our neighbors find meaningful, lasting careers every year.

The best part? All of you are helping our environment by reusing and recycling items to keep them out of landfills. At the same time, you are helping our economy by helping all Americans find their version of the American dream; when the business community finds good candidates for good jobs through Goodwill, we all benefit.
