Goodwill partners with ReSupply, a veteran-founded organization that works with nonprofit organizations around the country, to offer donation pickups.  ReSupply charges a fee for this service that is paid by the donor.

Donations help the environment

Goodwill aims to extend the lifecycle of every donation. When items can’t be sold, we take extra steps to keep them out of Georgia landfills and support the environment.  Through our partnership with Dell Reconnect, we responsibly and safely recycle e-waste, no matter the condition. We accept monitors, desktops, laptops, printers, and more. Simply pack your items and drop them off at your nearest Goodwill of North Georgia location.

Meet Diego Hernandez-Millan

A native of Puerto Rico, Diego Hernandez-Millan spent much of his childhood living in Pennsylvania before his family relocated to Georgia in search of better educational opportunities. His parents and older siblings sought job search assistance at the Cartersville Career Center and in 2019, when Diego turned 16, he visited the center looking for his first job.

Meet Eduardo Southerland

In February 2019, Eduardo Southerland’s GVRA counselor referred him to Goodwill’s Oakwood Career Center. The Flowery Branch native graduated from North Hall High School in 1998 and spent the next 18 years working for The Gainesville Times, where he mailed newspapers to subscribers. After leaving the newspaper, Eduardo spent a year as a bagger at Publix. As 2018 drew to a close, he was interested in pursuing employment with better compensation.

With weather and the number of customers being unpredictable, Antonious decided it was time to pursue a different career path. He wanted a stable career where he could have financial security but had been out of school for a while and was not sure how he could obtain the necessary education and training to move into a new career. Money was limited and paying for school was not an option.

We accept a wide variety of gently used items, including clothing, shoes, household goods, furniture, books, toys, and some electronics. Before you donate, check our accepted items list to see what we can and can’t accept here.

Yes. As a 501 (3)(c), Goodwill of North Georgia is a qualified nonprofit organization. Goodwill can’t provide a dollar value of an in-kind gift but you can reference the IRS to locate reasonable donation values  here.

And, be sure to request your donation receipt at the donor door to help you keep track of your annual donations.

Goodwill of North Georgia is committed to reducing waste and keeping as much material as possible out of Georgia’s landfills.

We recycle traditional materials such as paper, plastic, and aluminum, and partner with trusted organizations to reuse and recycle clothing, shoes, toys, accessories and books. Through programs like Dell Reconnect we also help responsibly recycle electronics, reducing e-waste and keeping harmful materials out of local landfills.
